Cancellation of the 2024 Garmin Lure Masters Trophy

Before the start

It is with great regret that we must announce the cancellation of the 2024 Garmin Lure Masters Trophy. Unfortunately, due to an insufficient number of registered teams, we are unable to proceed with the event this year. The current number of participants does not provide a reliable basis for the high-quality event we are committed to delivering. After discussions with our sponsors, we have decided against holding a scaled-down version of the tournament. The philosophy of MLF Lure Masters remains steadfast: to elevate the sport of fishing in Europe and internationally, showcasing the most successful anglers and making our sport visible and live for everyone to experience.

Statement from Christian Biereth, Owner of Lure Masters:

“As a tournament angler who has participated in various international events, it has always been my vision to elevate the tournament fishing scene in Europe with Lure Masters. This vision includes not only hosting a well-executed event but also putting our anglers in the spotlight and making the event accessible live. Over the past years, a fantastic team has worked tirelessly towards this goal, and I believe we have made significant progress, especially with the participation of the first Central European team (Luc Coppens & Toon van Ham) in one of the most prestigious fishing tournaments in the USA, the MLF Toyota Series Championship.

After our most successful event in 2023, the hesitant registration this year comes as a surprise, and I deeply regret that we cannot hold the event as planned. I extend my gratitude to all friends, helpers, sponsors, and supporters of the event and hope for a swift reunion.”

Additional Information

The Lure Masters Trophy was established in 2016 as “Lure Masters” and quickly became one of the most prestigious tournaments in Europe. With 120 boats and 240 anglers competing in a unique format targeting the largest 8 perch, 5 zander, and 3 pike across three different bodies of water, it has set new standards in the sport. The 2023 Trophy broke records once again and was the first European fishing event to be streamed live in its entirety on Twitch.tv, allowing fans to experience the excitement from home.
